Unique Art & Craft is tucked away in Shivalik, Malviya Nagar, at A-15. It is a decent spot, away from the loudest parts of the main market but still close enough to hear the general buzz of the city. The space is filled with all sorts of materials and half-finished projects. There is a specific smell of wood and glue that stays in the air no matter how much we open the windows. We spend a lot of time on our feet here. The floor is rarely clean because there is always something being cut or sanded down. It’s a practical workspace, not a showroom where everything is polished to a shine. We have a few big tables that have seen better days, covered in marks and scratches from years of use. At A-15, we mostly just focus on the task in front of us. If you walk past, you might see us moving crates or sitting on stools talking about a design. The neighborhood is friendly, and we know the people in the neighboring houses. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding the exact gate, so we have to go out and wave them down. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but that is just how it goes when you are making things by hand every day in a place like this.
