Anant Art Gallery

We have been here at Lado Sarai F213-B for a good while now. It’s a busy neighborhood for art, but our little corner is pretty quiet most days. Usually, it’s just us moving frames around or trying to get the lighting right for a new set of paintings that just arrived. We spend a lot of time unpacking crates and dealing with bubble wrap. It gets everywhere. Sometimes an artist will come in with their work and we’ll spend an hour just talking about where to hang it. The walls have a lot of holes from all the times we’ve shifted things around, but we just patch them up and keep going. People walk in from the street, sometimes just to escape the heat or the rain for a bit. We don't mind. It's nice to have company even if they aren't looking to buy anything. The floor is a bit stained from some spilled paint a few years back, but it adds character I guess. We try to keep the windows clean so people can see inside, but the dust in this part of Delhi makes it a constant job. There’s no big corporate team behind us, just a couple of people who like looking at art and helping others find something they like. We aren't experts on everything, but we know what we have on the walls. It’s a simple life here among the canvases and the frames.
