Akriti Art Gallery & Framer

We have been at Lajpat Nagar II for quite a while now. Specifically, you can find us at Central Market J 10/B. It is a busy spot, as most people who visit this part of Delhi know. Akriti Art Gallery & Framer started out because there was a need for a place where people could just bring in their stuff and get it sorted without too much fuss. Sometimes people bring in old family photos that are falling apart, and other times it is a big piece of art they bought on a trip. The shop isn't huge, but we make it work. Most days involve measuring wood and cutting glass. It gets dusty, but that is how it goes when you are working with these materials. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who walk in about what looks good on their walls. There is no big corporate office behind us, just us working here every day. People come by after doing their vegetable shopping or getting clothes fixed nearby. It is nice being part of the local market life. Sometimes we get behind on things when a lot of orders come in at once, but we try to keep up. If you are walking around J block, you’ll see the sign. It’s a pretty straightforward setup we have here. We just focus on the frames and the art on the walls, and that keeps us busy enough from morning until we close up for the night.
