Out here in Okhla Phase II, things move pretty fast. Our place, Rakesh Art, is at S-21. It’s a busy industrial area, so there’s always trucks and noise, but inside we’re focused on the creative side of things. We handle different kinds of art projects, signage, or whatever someone walks in with. Sometimes it’s a big corporate order, and sometimes it’s just a guy needing a nameplate. We treat it all about the same. The walls have a lot of paint splashes and there’s always a smell of solvent or ink in the air. That’s just how it is when you’re actually making stuff with your hands. New Delhi is a huge city, and being in Okhla means we get a lot of variety in the work. We’ve got a couple of old machines that still run better than the new ones we bought last year. It’s funny how that works out. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. You just come in, tell us what you need, and we figure out how to make it happen. My desk is usually covered in sketches and scrap paper. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. If you’re looking for high-end office vibes, this isn’t it. But if you want something built or painted, we’re usually here till late. We just enjoy the process of making things from scratch every day.
