Our store, Smart Mart Stores Pvt Ltd, is located at L 40 in the Central Market of Lajpat Nagar II, right near the KFC restaurant. Being near a big landmark like KFC helps people find us, which is good because Central Market can be a real headache to navigate if you don’t know your way around. We are a general store, so we stock a bit of everything that families in the area might need on a daily basis. The aisles are a bit tight, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. We try to keep things organized, but honestly, by Saturday afternoon, things are usually a bit of a mess with people picking stuff up and putting it back in the wrong place. We’ve got a couple of regular staff members who’ve been here since we opened. We know which neighbors like which brand of tea and who is going to complain about the price of onions that week. The lighting is a bit bright and fluorescent, and there is always a radio playing somewhere near the checkout counter. It’s a loud, busy environment, but we like being in the heart of Lajpat Nagar. We don't have any fancy membership cards or marketing gimmicks. We just open the shutters in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first customers to walk through the door.
