We’ve been here at Defence Colony Main Market 17 for quite a while now. Most folks in the neighborhood know where we are. It’s a busy spot, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping. We keep the doors open pretty much all day, trying to make sure things are stocked up. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late or the stockroom gets a bit messy, but that’s just how it goes in a shop like this. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just shelves filled with what people need for their homes. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets crowded. The fan in the back makes a bit of noise, but we’re used to it by now. We see the same faces every week, people stopping by for their regulars. If we don’t have something, we usually try to get it in by the next Tuesday. It’s a simple setup. Nothing too special about the building, just a standard storefront with a heavy shutter. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass because of the dust from the road. It gets dusty fast around here. Usually, I’m the one behind the counter, unless I’ve stepped out for tea. Life in the market is loud and fast, but our little corner stays pretty steady. We just focus on keeping things organized enough so people can find what they’re looking for without too much trouble.
