Shivam Kala Kendra

You can find Shivam Kala Kendra over in Lajpat Nagar, at F-7. Lajpat Nagar is always crowded, especially near the markets, so our place is a bit of a retreat from all that noise. We focus on art and culture here. It is not a huge gallery or anything, just a space where things happen. We have been here for a good amount of time, teaching and showing different forms of art. The walls are usually covered with sketches or paintings. Sometimes we have music or dance practice going on, so it gets a bit loud with the bells and the tabla. We do not spend money on big ads. Most of the students or visitors come because they saw us while walking through the lanes of F-Block. The entrance is simple. We have a few rooms set up for different activities. It is a bit dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but we keep the inside clean. The staff here are mostly artists themselves. We do not have a formal dress code or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and help people learn something new. It is a local spot for anyone who likes the arts. We are just a small part of the Delhi art scene, tucked away in a residential corner. It feels more like a home than an office. We have extra chairs for parents to sit while they wait.
