Rang (A Roof For Art)

Being located in Hauz Khas Village at 29 Ground Floor, we are right in the middle of all the creative energy this place has. Rang is a small spot, basically just a few rooms where we keep various art pieces and things people have made over time. We call it "A Roof For Art" because that’s literally what it is—a place where these things can sit until someone wants to take them home. The walls are usually covered in whatever we’ve recently found or what local artists have brought in to show us. It’s not a polished gallery with white walls and fancy track lights. It’s a bit cluttered and sometimes the floor is a little dusty, but that’s just how it is. We spend our days talking to people who wander in from the narrow streets of the village. Some are just looking, others want to know the story behind a particular painting or sculpture. We don’t have a sales pitch. If you like something, you like it. The rent in the village keeps going up, which is a worry for everyone here, but we’ve managed to stay put this long. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes to keep things organized, especially when new items arrive and we have nowhere left to put them. But we enjoy the atmosphere and the people we meet every day who care about these things as much as we do.
