Qasim Painter

I have been doing this painting work for a long time now, mostly around Sangam Vihar. My place is in Gali No-7, at number 41301. It is a busy street and everyone knows everyone here. Most days I am out at someone’s house with my brushes and buckets. Painting is messy work and my clothes always have some splatters on them, no matter how careful I am. I carry my ladder around and spend hours looking at walls. Sometimes the weather is too humid and the paint takes forever to dry, which is frustrating. People come to me when they want to change the look of their rooms or if the old paint is peeling off. I don't have a big office or anything, just my tools and the work I do with my hands. It is hard on the back sometimes, especially when I have to reach the high corners of a ceiling. I usually start quite early before it gets too hot. There is a lot of prep work like scraping and sanding before the actual color goes on. It is just me and maybe a helper depending on how big the job is. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for years so I don’t have to travel very far usually. It is honest work and it keeps me going through the week. The brushes need cleaning every night which takes time and some effort.
