Om Prakash Shakya

I am Om Prakash Shakya and my work is based at number 333 in Jasola Village. We are in the Jamia Nagar area of New Delhi, right in the 110025 zip code. Jasola has changed a lot over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s a busy little area with lots of people moving around all the time. My office is a small room that I’ve converted to handle my business. It isn't much to look at, just some shelves and a sturdy table, but it gets the job done. I don’t like wasting money on decorations or fancy rugs. I’d rather just focus on the actual work. Most of my neighbors are also running small shops or working from their homes, so we all understand each other. It’s a tight-knit community here in the village. Sometimes the narrow streets make it hard for deliveries to reach us, but we usually figure it out. I’ve been doing this for a while and I don't see any reason to stop now. It’s honest work and it keeps me connected to the people in Delhi. We don’t try to act like we’re some big corporation. We’re just local people doing what we know how to do. If you come by Jasola, you’ll see us there, just working through the daily tasks. It is a simple, busy life. It is a good way to live, being part of the energy of New Delhi.
