Indian Carpet Centre

Indian Carpet Centre is located on the first floor at A-2 in Adhchini. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up a flight of stairs, which keeps things a bit quieter than the shops right on the street level. We’ve got quite a bit of space up here, though it doesn't always feel like it when the new shipments of rugs arrive. There are stacks of carpets everywhere you look. We try to keep them sorted by their size and type, but sometimes they get a bit mixed up when we're in a hurry. It's not a showroom with bright spotlights or fancy decorations. We just use the regular overhead lights that were here when we moved in. It’s a bit of a climb when we have heavy rolls to move, but we've gotten used to it over the years. Adhchini is a good spot to be in, right in the middle of everything. We spend a lot of our time just rolling and unrolling things for people to see. Our hands get pretty calloused from the wool and all the heavy lifting we do. We don’t have a website that’s updated every day or a team of marketing people telling us what to do. It’s just a few of us here making sure the shop stays open and the inventory is handled properly. It’s simple work, really. We like the neighborhood and the other shopkeepers nearby are friendly to us. We've been here long enough that we don't really need to explain ourselves.
