India Handmades

You’ll find India Handmades over at J-212 in Saket. It’s a residential-feeling area but there are a lot of small businesses like ours tucked away. We work out of a space that feels more like a home than an office. We have shelves filled with all sorts of handmade items. Most of it comes from artisans we’ve known for a long time. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny showroom. Usually, people find us by word of mouth or by stumbling upon our address. The work involves a lot of unpacking crates and checking for any damage. It can be a bit messy with all the bubble wrap and cardboard. We aren't a high-pressure sales environment. We just show people what we have and let the work speak for itself. It’s a quiet way to spend the day. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to say hello. We like that about being in Saket. We keep things very informal. No suits or ties here. We’re just passionate about these crafts and want to make sure they find a good home. It’s not a complicated business model. We buy things we like and hope others like them too. Every piece has a bit of a story, though we don't always have time to tell them all. It’s just a simple, local business. We keep it small and personal.
