About Gallery Pioneer – Art & Craft in South Delhi
We are located on the second floor at F/322, right across from the Shiv Mandir. It’s a good landmark, and the bells from the temple are something we hear every day, which is quite nice actually. Gallery Pioneer is a space where we keep all our art and frames. Being on the second floor, you have to walk up a set of stairs that are a bit steep, but once you get inside, it’s quiet compared to the street below. The rooms are filled with different pieces of work, some hanging on the walls and others leaned up against each other on the floor. We don't have a very formal layout, it's more about where things can fit safely. There’s always the smell of wood and some paint in the air. We spend a lot of time just organizing the collection and making sure everything is handled carefully. It’s not a high-traffic place, so we usually know who is coming to visit us beforehand. The lighting is okay, though we have to use a few extra lamps in the corners where the sun doesn't reach. We have a small desk where we do all the record keeping and talk to people about the pieces they are interested in. It’s a simple setup, mostly just us and the art. No fancy displays or expensive furniture, just the essentials needed to keep the gallery going day to day near the temple.
