Kongposh Arts

Kongposh Arts is located at 1080/1-C in Mehrauli. If you know the area, you know it’s full of old stones and narrow lanes that have been there forever. Our shop is part of that landscape. It’s not a shiny gallery with spotlights and white walls. Instead, it’s a place where things are a bit crowded and the air smells a little like old wood and fabric. We focus on arts, but it’s the hands-on kind. There’s usually a bit of dust on the shelves, and we spend a lot of time just moving pieces around to make room for new ones. Working in Mehrauli means you have to get used to the history all around you, which is actually quite nice when you step out for a tea break. We don’t have a big staff or a fancy marketing plan. It’s mostly just us looking after the items and talking to whoever wanders in. Sometimes people get lost looking for the address because the numbering in Mehrauli can be a bit confusing, but they usually find us eventually. We don’t put on any acts here. If the place looks a bit lived-in, it’s because we actually spend our whole day working here. We like the rough edges of the neighborhood and the way the late afternoon light hits the front of the building. It’s a quiet life, mostly spent surrounded by the things we make and sell without much fuss.
