Kismet Carpets Inc. is over at 1, Anand Lok, right on Khel Gaon Marg. It’s a decent area, but the road out front can get really backed up with traffic during the rush hours. Our building is pretty simple. We use most of the space for storing and showing the carpets we have on hand. It’s not like those fancy galleries where everything is spaced out with spotlights. Here, we have rugs stacked on top of each other, and you have to dig a bit to see everything. We spend a lot of time moving things around to make room for new arrivals. The staff is just a few of us who have been working together for years. We don’t wear suits or anything; it’s mostly just jeans and shirts because the work is physical. Moving carpets around all day is tough on the back. We try to keep the place organized, but it’s a constant battle with the dust and the sheer number of items we have. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy mission statement. We just open the doors in the morning, check our lists, and start the day. Sometimes people stop in because they’re passing by on Khel Gaon Marg and want to see what we have. We show them around without much fuss. It’s a quiet, steady business and we like it that way. We just keep doing what we know how to do best.
