Indian Arts & Crafts Exposition

Up here in Green Park Extension, at T-13, things are a bit quieter than the main markets. It’s a residential area mostly, so we have to be careful about making too much noise with the crates when we load them. Indian Arts & Crafts Exposition has been tucked away in this basement for a good while. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a new shipment in. We have samples of everything from brass work to stone carvings lining the shelves. The light isn't great down here, but we have some good lamps so we can see what we’re doing. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to vendors or waiting for the courier guy to show up. He’s usually late because he gets lost in the lanes of Green Park. It’s just a few of us working here. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. We mostly eat our lunch together at the main table, moving the catalogs out of the way first. It gets a bit cold in the winter, so we all wear heavy sweaters while we pack the boxes. We don’t really do any big branding. We just know our products and we know our customers. Most of the people who come to see us have been buying from us for a decade or more. It’s a steady, quiet kind of business, and that suits us just fine.
