Family Art Gallery

Our gallery is located at 13-A, right in the middle of Hauz Khas Village. If you know the area, you know it’s always busy with people going to the cafes or looking at the old ruins. We are a family-run place, so it’s usually either me or my brother sitting at the front desk. We have a mix of all sorts of art, some of it is very modern and some of it looks like it’s from another century. The shop is a bit narrow and deep, so it can feel a little crowded when more than three or four people are inside. We don’t have those fancy spotlights you see in the big city galleries. We mostly just use the light coming in from the front and some basic bulbs. It gets a bit dusty because of the construction always happening in the village, so we are constantly wiping down the frames. We don’t really do big fancy shows or mailers. Most people just wander in while they are out for a walk. We handle all the packing ourselves if someone buys a big piece. It’s a lot of bubble wrap and tape, but we want to make sure things don’t break. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change so much. Even with all the new shops, we just keep doing what we do at 13-A. It’s home for us.
