Our workshop is down in the basement at F-70 in Lajpat Nagar-II. It stays a bit cooler down there, which is nice when the Delhi heat kicks in. It’s a bit of a maze with all the shelves full of different pieces we’ve collected or made over the years. You might trip over a box if you aren't careful. We focus on the craft side of things, so there is usually a bit of a mess—wood shavings, bits of metal, or some paint cans sitting around. It smells a bit like glue and old paper. We aren't trying to be some high-end gallery; we just like making stuff and getting it sold. The stairs are a bit steep, so moving heavy crates up and down is always a bit of a struggle for us. We have a small radio that plays the local stations while we work. Sometimes the neighbors come by to complain about the noise, but we try to keep it down. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there is always someone walking by the street-level windows. We spend our hours fixing things, packing them carefully in bubble wrap, and hoping the courier doesn't drop them. It’s a simple life, working with our hands in a basement, but it keeps us busy and we like the feeling of finishing a project. We have a couple of old chairs where we sit and have our lunch.
