Ancient Arts

Ancient Arts is located at 2, Sirifort Road, which is a bit of a busy area but we stay tucked away. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just some old bricks and a heavy door. Inside is where all the stuff is kept. We have things made of brass, wood, and stone scattered all over the place. It isn't organized like a museum; it’s more like a workshop that never got cleaned up properly. There is a specific smell here, like old oil and dust, that stays on your clothes all day. We spend a lot of time cleaning off the grime from items we find or pieces we are finishing up. The light isn't great in the back rooms, so we usually work near the front where the sun comes through. Sirifort Road has changed a lot over the years, with more cars and noise, but once you step inside here, it feels like the clocks slowed down. We don't have a receptionist. If someone walks in, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and goes to see what they need. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk about how things used to be made better in the old days. We don't try to make things look brand new; we like the scratches and the dents because they show the piece has a story.
