The K T S Public School

The K T S Public School is situated up in Giri Hills. Because of where we are, the air is a bit thinner and it stays cooler than down in the main town. Getting mail is a bit of a process, which is why we use P Box 25 for everything. The school building is spread out a bit on the hillside, so there are a lot of steps and slopes to deal with. It can be a bit of a climb in the mornings, especially when you’re carrying a heavy bag of books. The view from the top windows is actually quite good, though we don’t spend much time looking at it. We’re mostly focused on the leaky roof or the desks that need fixing. It’s a quiet place compared to schools in the city. You don't hear many cars, just the wind and the kids. The classrooms are simple, with wooden floors that creak when you walk over them. We don't have a lot of modern equipment, so we rely on traditional ways of doing things. The winter months are pretty tough because it gets quite cold, and we all have to wear extra sweaters. It’s a bit isolated, but that’s just how it is in the hills. We just keep the fires going in the staff room and make sure the kids stay warm while they study.
