Shim Adrash Public School

Shim Adrash Public School is found along the stretch of road that goes from Nanla to Shimla, right in the Mamlig area of Solan. It is one of those spots that people pass by frequently if they are traveling between the bigger towns. The school itself is a straightforward place where we look after the local kids' education. We have several rooms for different classes, and the staff is mostly made up of people from the nearby areas. It is not a very loud place, except for when the children are out for their midday break. We deal with the usual school stuff, like keeping the classrooms tidy and making sure the books are available. The road outside can get a bit dusty, but we keep the gates closed and focus on what is happening inside. Families from Mamlig depend on us because we are close to where they live and work. It is easier for them than sending their children further away to the bigger cities. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It is just a regular school with regular people trying to do a good job. Sometimes we have to fix a leaky pipe or paint a wall that has started to peel, and we just get it done. The Solan district has a lot of schools, but this one has its own little corner on the way to Shimla. We see the seasons change from the school windows, and that is just how the years go by here. It is a quiet life, but it is steady.
