Him Public High School

Him Public High School is located in Dehra, near the Post Office in Hatwar, Bilaspur. We are up here in Himachal Pradesh, so the views are nice even if the terrain is a bit hilly. The school has been around for quite a while, serving the kids from the Dehra area and the surrounding villages. It’s a high school, so we deal with students who are starting to think about their future and what comes after school. The building is a simple one, nothing too modern, but it has enough rooms for all the classes. We have a small area where the kids can play during their breaks. It’s a quiet life here compared to the bigger cities. Most of our students walk to school or come by the local bus service. We don't have a lot of high-tech gadgets in the classrooms, just the usual boards and chalk. The teachers are local people who care about the community. We don't do much in the way of advertising because everyone in Bilaspur already knows who we are. Some days are harder than others, especially when the weather turns bad and the roads are slippery. We just do our best to keep the school running and make sure the kids are learning what they need to. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just focus on the basic education. We keep the heaters going in the winter, though it’s never quite warm enough for everyone’s liking.
