Dagshai Public School

Up in the hills, you can find Dagshai Public School right by the Post Office in Dagshai Cantt. Being in the Solan district means we deal with a lot of different weather than the schools down in the plains. The mornings are often quite chilly and misty, especially in the winter months. The school is a bit of a landmark in this small community. Most of the people here know the campus and the buildings that have been standing for years. We have students who live here and others who come in from the nearby areas. The life here is a bit slower than in the big cities, which suits us just fine. You can see the mountains from the classrooms, and that is a nice view to have while working. The teachers and the staff live close by and we all see each other at the local shops or on the roads. The daily schedule is tight because there is always a lot to get through before the sun starts to go down. We keep the classrooms simple with wooden desks and basic supplies. It is a place with a lot of history, and you can feel that when you walk through the old hallways. We do not use much technology; it is more about the books and the people. Every year we see new faces and say goodbye to the ones who are moving on. It is just how life goes in a school like this.
