The Lakshmiji Organics Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of Sarai Maluhi Industrial Estate for some time now. If you ever come by this part of town, you’ll see it’s a lot of warehouses and small factories lined up next to each other. Our spot is just one of many, but we stay busy with the day-to-day tasks. Dealing with organic products means there is always something to sort or move around. It’s not the kind of job where you sit at a desk all day. We are usually out on the floor, checking the bags or talking to the drivers who bring in the raw materials. The estate itself can be a bit loud with the machinery next door, but you get used to it after a week or two. We started small and just kept going. It is mostly family and some local guys from around the neighborhood. We don't have a fancy reception or anything. Most people who come to see us just walk straight into the loading area. The office is small and usually piled high with papers and samples. Sometimes we sit outside for tea when it’s not too dusty. Our neighbors are mostly into engineering stuff, so there is a mix of smells and sounds. It’s hard work, especially when the rains come and the roads get muddy. But we just get on with it. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s a simple operation here at Sarai Maluhi, and that seems to work fine.
