Pandra Agrotech Farmers Producer Company Limited is a small group situated in Padra village, Nawabganj. We are based at Kunwar Sen’s house. This is where a few of us get together to manage our farming activities. Nawabganj is where we do most of our shopping and business. The village of Padra is small and everyone knows each other. We use Agrotech in our name because we try to use better tools for our crops. But it’s still just farming at the end of the day. Kunwar Sen keeps the books and talks to the visitors. We don't have a fancy office with a receptionist. You just walk up to the house. There are usually some tractors parked nearby. We spend our time talking about the soil and which seeds will grow best this year. The Pandra area has its own challenges with the weather. We try to stick together to get better deals on supplies. It’s a very local thing. We don’t have a big mission statement. We just want to grow good food and make a living. Sometimes the insects are a problem, and sometimes the sun is too hot. We just take it day by day. It’s a plain and simple way to live. We are just farmers working together. It's a way for us to stay in the village instead of moving away to the city.
