Agarwal Traders

Agarwal Traders is located on Sevoke Road in the Darjeeling district. Most people around here know Sevoke Road as the main artery for getting things moved. We’ve set up our business here because it’s convenient for the trucks coming and going. The weather can be a bit unpredictable, with heavy rains making things a bit damp, but we keep the shutters open regardless. We deal in general trading, so our inventory changes depending on what is in demand. It’s not a high-tech operation. We have a simple ledger and a couple of desks. Most of our time is spent talking to drivers and making sure the loads are secured properly. We don’t have a big marketing plan or a mission statement written on the wall. We just try to be helpful to the people who stop by. Sometimes it’s quiet, and we just sit and watch the traffic go by towards the hills. Other times, it’s a mad rush to get everything sorted before the end of the day. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we know most of the other traders nearby. It’s a tight community where a handshake still means something. We don't promise anything fancy, just that we will be here when the sun comes up to handle the day's trade as best as we can.
