Shri Bihari Ji Farmer Producer Company Limited

Over in Villagebadripur Hadira, we started Shri Bihari Ji Farmer Producer Company to help the local folks with their crops. Ravi Kant, whose father is Ram Saran, lets us use his place as a home base for the group. It’s right here in the Powayan area. We spend our days dealing with whatever the season throws at us, whether it’s the heat or the sudden rain. Most of the people in our group have been farming these same fields for their whole lives, so we know the land pretty well. We aren’t interested in those big corporate ways of doing things; we just want to make sure the farmers get paid what they deserve for their grain and produce. It’s a lot of paperwork sometimes, which isn't our favorite part, but it has to be done to keep things legal and fair. We meet up at Ravi's to talk about seeds, fertilizers, and where we’re going to sell the next batch of crops. Sometimes we share tools or help each other out when someone gets behind on their work. It’s a small operation, and we don't have any fancy equipment to show off. We just rely on our hands and the knowledge we’ve picked up over the years. If you’re passing through the village, you’ll see us out there working, just like everyone else around here trying to make a living from the earth and feed our families.
