Our group, Shivalik Foothills Farm Producer Companylimited, is based at Geeta Singh’s place in Briz Bihar Colony. This is located in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The address is pretty easy to find if you are in the colony. We chose this spot as our home base because it is central for the farmers we work with. Even though the name mentions the foothills, we do all our administrative work and meetings right here in the SPN area. It is not a big office with lots of computers. Mostly, it is just a room where we can sit down and talk about the farming business. We spend a lot of time discussing seed quality, the upcoming weather, and how to get things moved to market. Shahjahanpur has a lot of farming history, and we are just trying to be a part of that in our own way. We are a small group and we don't have any fancy titles. Everyone just chips in where they can. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit behind when it’s a busy season out in the fields, but we catch up eventually. It is a very local way of doing things. We don't have a marketing budget or any of that. We just rely on the people we know in the colony and the surrounding areas. It is a simple life and a simple business, focused on what the farmers need right now. We hope the rains are good this year.
