Krishak Jaagrati Farmer Producer Companylimited is located in the Khudaganj area of Shahjahanpur. Our office is actually at Sarita Devi’s place in a spot called Rathan. We are right in the middle of the farming belt here in Uttar Pradesh. The name basically means waking up the farmers, which is what we try to do by working together. It’s not like those big companies in the cities. We don't wear suits or have meetings with fancy slides. Most of our time is spent looking at the fields or talking about the price of seeds and fertilizer. The office in Rathan is a practical place. We have some chairs and a table where we keep the registers. It gets a bit dusty when the wind blows through Shahjahanpur, but that’s just how it is. Being a farmer producer company helps us get a better handle on things as a group. We are all local people. We know the soil and we know how the weather changes around here. Sometimes we have to deal with a lot of paperwork which isn't fun, but it has to be done for the company to stay legal.
