Hamaragaon Producer Company Limited is based out of Mohar Singh’s spot in Bhojawala, over in Babel Bujurg. The name means our village, which is exactly how we see it. It’s just us folks from around here trying to handle the farming stuff as a group. Mohar Singh has been here a long time and his place is easy enough to find if you are in the Babel Bujurg area. We spend most of our mornings out in the fields before it gets too hot to breathe. There’s always something to do, whether it’s fixing a fence or checking on the water. We aren’t a big corporation with people in suits. We are just farmers in dirty boots. Sometimes we sit around and talk about the prices or the rain, which never seems to come when you actually need it. The soil here is okay if you treat it right. We’ve been working this land for generations, so we know the turns of the road. It’s a simple setup we have. We use the space at Mohar’s to keep our records and meet up when there is something to decide. It’s better than trying to do everything alone. If you see someone working the fields near Bhojawala, that’s probably one of us. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a quiet life but it keeps us busy. We like it that way.
