Living and working in Moharniya means you are always close to the soil. We spend our mornings walking out to the fields and our afternoons sitting around the office area trying to keep the books straight. It is a farmer producer company, so the whole idea is just to get the local growers on the same page. We don't have fancy desks or air conditioning, just some chairs and the company of people who have been farming this land for generations. The village life is slow but the work is constant. Sometimes we worry about the rain not coming on time, and other times we are dealing with too much of it. Chandra Prakash is usually around if anyone needs to talk about their membership or the next batch of supplies. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t really do big meetings, just small talks under the shade when the sun gets too hot. People know us as neighbors first and a company second. We just want to make sure the work gets done and everyone gets a fair shake at the end of the harvest season.
