Amarpatan Agrotech Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Gram Post Jhinna, which is in the Amarpatan area of Satna. Satyendra Singh is the one who helps manage things from there. We are a small group of farmers who live and work around Jhinna. Even though the name says agrotech, we are still just regular people working in the dirt every day. We wanted a way to bring our crops together and maybe get better deals at the market. Satna has a lot of farming going on and we are just one part of that. Satyendra keeps the paperwork at his place and we go there to check on things. It’s a very basic setup. We talk about the seeds, the water, and how the season is looking. Most of our members have been farming since they were young. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields supports our families. Sometimes the weather doesn't help us but we try to manage. Having this company helps us feel like we have a little more control over what happens after the harvest. It’s just us, some local folks from Amarpatan, trying to keep the farming tradition going in a way that makes sense today. It is hard work but we are used to it by now.
