About Walchand College Of Engineering – Education in Sangli
Walchand College Of Engineering is over in Sangli, specifically in the Vishram Bagh area. It’s been around for quite a while, and you can really tell when you look at the old trees and the style of the buildings. It has that lived-in feel that new places just don't have yet. I spend my time walking through the quadrangles, and it’s nice to see the way the vines grow over the older stone walls. The place is pretty big, and it’s easy to get turned around if you aren’t used to the layout. We have these large halls that stay relatively cool even when it’s boiling outside. The desks are old and have names scratched into them from decades ago, which is kind of interesting to see. It’s a very grounded atmosphere here. People aren’t trying to impress each other; they’re just trying to get their work done and find a job. You see groups of students sitting under the trees with their notebooks out, arguing about some math problem or just joking around. The workshops are noisy and smell like oil and metal, which I actually find quite comforting. It’s a busy spot, but it has its quiet corners if you know where to look. We don’t have fancy glass buildings or anything, but the roofs keep the rain out and the floors are swept every morning. It’s a solid place with deep roots in the town and a very regular routine.
