Varkari Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are a group of farmers here in Patrewadi, which is a village in the Atpadi area of Sangli. Most people around here know us as Varkari Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our little setup is based out of Balavant Kondiba Gaiwad’s place. It is a quiet spot where we get together to figure out how to handle our crops and get things to the market without having too many problems. Farming in this part of Maharashtra is not always easy, so having this group helps us share the load and the costs. We spend a lot of our time just talking about the weather, the seeds, and how the soil is doing this year. Sometimes we just sit around the office in Patrewadi and plan what we are going to do for the next harvest season. It is mostly about making sure everyone in the group gets a fair shake. We aren't some big corporation with fancy glass offices or secretaries. It is just a simple room where we keep our papers and meet up. The address says Sangli-Sangli, but we are specifically out in the village area. It can get pretty dusty and the roads are sometimes a bit rough, but we have been here for a while. Usually, there is a few of us hanging around the place in the mornings before heading out to our own fields. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. Just local people trying to keep the farming business going day by day.
