Mungetri Sugar Cane Producer Company Limited

We are the Mungetri Sugar Cane Producer Company Limited, located at #114, Ganapat Galli in Waghawade. This whole thing started because a bunch of us sugar cane growers in the area needed a better way to manage our crops. Waghawade is a place where a lot of people depend on the cane harvest. It’s tough work, being out in the sun all day cutting and loading. We decided to come together as a producer company to help each other out with the logistics. Our office on Ganapat Galli is pretty basic, just a place to keep the books and meet up. There’s usually a lot of noise and talking when the members come in to discuss the season. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing team. We just know about sugar cane and how hard it is to get a price for it. Sometimes the sugar mills take forever to pay, and that’s when we have to talk and figure things out. It’s a community thing more than a corporate business. We deal with the dirt and the rain and the bugs every single day. People forget how much work goes into a spoonful of sugar. We are just trying to make it a bit easier for the farmers here to keep going year after year without losing everything. It’s not easy but we are sticking together to make it work.
