Upnl Agro Producer Company Limited is based over in Sahyadri Nagar in Miraj. If you know the Sangli area, you know it's a place where everyone is pretty much involved in farming one way or another. We set this up at C.S.No 10319/9 because we needed a central spot to handle all the paperwork and the logistics that come with being an agro producer. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical room where we sit and figure out the season's plans. We spend a lot of time talking to the local guys and trying to get the produce where it needs to go. Sometimes the monsoon makes everything a mess, and other times the heat is just too much, but the work has to happen anyway. We aren't trying to sound like some big corporate entity from the city. We are just local people who know the land. Most days, you’ll find us drinking tea and looking over the ledgers. There’s no big mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about the next harvest. We started this because doing it alone was getting too hard for everyone. Now, we just take it one day at a time at the Miraj office. It's a lot of physical work and sometimes a bit of a headache with the local rules, but it’s our life here in Maharashtra.
