Tree House

This branch of Tree House is set up inside Shree Sai Bungalow in Neminath Nagar. Being on the Sangli Miraj Road makes it easy for parents to drop their kids off on their way to work. It is a residential building that we have adapted for the children, so it has a very home-like feel to it. We have different rooms for different age groups, filled with small chairs, colorful mats, and plenty of toys. The backyard has been turned into a play area with some swings and slides that get a lot of use every morning. You can usually hear the kids playing from the street. We try to keep things organized, but with so many toddlers, there is usually some clutter on the floors by midday. The staff here are mostly local women who have been working with children for a long time. We spend the day doing simple things like drawing, storytelling, and helping them with their snacks. It is not a very formal place; we want the kids to feel comfortable while their parents are away. The bungalow has a small porch where we wait with the children at pick-up time. Since it is a main road, we have to be careful with the gate, making sure it stays closed. It is a practical setup for the families living in this part of Sangli. We just focus on keeping the kids safe and occupied until they go home.
