Our little office is located at Vishnu Yashawant Chavan’s place in Arwade, which is right in the Tasgaon taluka. If you know this area, you know we’re all about the land here. We put "Agrosmart" in the name because we wanted to try and be a bit more clever about how we handle the business side of things. Farming is one thing, but selling and managing the money is a whole other struggle. We are a group of farmers from around Arwade who decided to stop working all alone. Now we talk to each other about what we’re planting and how the water situation is looking. Tasgaon is a busy place for agriculture, so we try to keep up. We don't have a big staff or anything, just a few of us who take turns looking after the books and talking to the buyers. It’s a lot of sitting around on plastic chairs drinking tea and trying to figure out the market prices. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don't, but that’s just how it goes. We aren't trying to be some huge corporation. We just want to make sure the guys in our group get a fair shake. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. If you’re ever passing through Arwade, that’s where you’ll find us, probably arguing about the rain or the price of inputs.
