Meghanchal Farmer Producer Company Limited

We’re located over at Madhukar Bajirao Kankal’s place in Mohkhed. That’s where we run Meghanchal Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s a local group we started because farming on your own is getting harder every year. We don't have an office in the city or anything like that. We just use the space we have here in the village. Most of us have been working the land around Mohkhed since we were kids. We know the dirt and we know the seasons. Forming this company was a way for us to stick together and hopefully get a better deal for our crops. We spend our mornings in the fields and then maybe meet up later to talk about what needs to be bought or sold. There’s usually someone around to help out if a tractor breaks or if someone is short-handed. It’s not a fancy business with big goals of taking over the market. We just want to keep our farms going and look after our families. Some days the paperwork is a headache, and we’d much rather be outside, but it has to be done. We keep things simple and honest. If you come by, you’ll see it’s just a normal house where we keep the company stuff. We aren't trying to impress anyone; we're just working hard to make a living from what we grow here in our own community. It’s a lot of long hours but we are used to it by now.
