Our group is located at K Mahankal in Sangli, right at House Number 3577/A/6. Kavathe Mahankal Farmers Producer is really just a bunch of us locals who decided to work together instead of trying to do everything alone. Sangli is known for its heat and its specific crops, and we’re right in the middle of it. It’s not always easy, especially when the water is low or the market prices start acting up. We spend our mornings talking to the other guys in the village about what needs to be done. The office is just a simple place where we keep our records and meet up. Most of the time, you’ll find us out near the fields rather than sitting behind a desk. We don’t go in for big speeches or fancy logos. We just want to make sure our produce gets where it needs to go without too much trouble. Sometimes we help each other out with tools or advice when things get tough. It’s a community thing more than anything else. Life in Maharashtra can be hard for a farmer, but being together makes it a bit more manageable. We just take things one day at a time, looking at the sky and hoping for rain. It’s a practical way to live, and we’re used to it by now. There’s always work to be done.
