Gsyk Farmers Producer Company Limited

Gsyk is based in Dhotrewadi, which is in the Walwa taluka of Sangli district. We’re just a bunch of local folks who have been working these fields for generations. A while back, we decided to form this company to help us move our produce more efficiently. It’s run right out of the village, nothing too formal about it. We spend most of our time worrying about the crops and the irrigation. Sangli is a good place for farming, but it still takes a lot of sweat to make anything grow. We don’t have a big corporate philosophy or anything like that. We just want to make sure we can sell what we grow for a fair price. The company helps us buy things in bulk, which saves a little bit of money here and there. It’s a practical solution to the problems we all face every day. Our meetings are usually held in someone’s yard or at a local gathering spot in Dhotrewadi. We keep things simple and honest. If a machine breaks, we fix it ourselves. If the rains are late, we wait it out together. That’s really all there is to it. We aren't looking for fame, just trying to keep our farms going and our families fed. It is hard work, but being part of Gsyk makes it feel like we have a little bit more of a future.
