Gudari Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are just a bunch of farmers from around the Gudari area in Rayagada. Most of our work happens out of Chaitanya Sabar’s place in Bainaguda Madhuban. It is not a fancy office or anything, just a spot where we can get together and talk about the crops and what needs doing next. Rayagada gets pretty hot during the summer months and that makes the work in the fields a bit tough, but we are used to it by now. We spend a lot of time checking on the soil and making sure the water is reaching where it should. Sometimes the rains don't come when they are supposed to, and then everyone gets a bit worried about the harvest. We try to help each other out with seeds or tools when someone is running short. It’s mostly about getting the produce ready and finding a way to get it to the market without too much trouble. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough, especially after a big storm, so we have to plan things out carefully. We don't have a big team of experts, just local people who have been farming these lands for a long time. It is hard work and there are days when things don't go right, like a tractor breaking down or the prices dropping unexpectedly. But we keep at it because this is what we know. Most evenings we just sit around and figure out the plan for tomorrow morning before the sun gets too high.
