Maa Gayatree Kolnara Farmers Producer Company Limited

We operate out of Sikarapai in the Kalyanasingpur block of Rayagada. Our office is located at the Dunduli area, specifically at the place of g.Ramakrishna Dorabeda. Rayagada is a beautiful place with all its hills and greenery, but it can be a real headache when it comes to moving goods around because the roads are so winding and steep. We are a farmers producer company named Maa Gayatree Kolnara, and we mostly work with the tribal and local farmers who live in the surrounding hills. A typical day for us involves a lot of walking or riding old motorbikes to reach the different farms. We meet up at the Dunduli office to talk about what’s being harvested and who is going to take it down to the main markets. It’s a very simple operation. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; we just rely on word of mouth and the relationships we’ve built over the years. The office is often a bit messy with sacks of samples and muddy boots by the door, but it’s where all the real work happens. We try to help the local people get a better price for their hard work in the fields. It’s not always smooth sailing, and there are plenty of days where things don't go as planned, but we just keep at it because it’s our way of life here in Rayagada.
