Sita Ram

Located on Devi Mandap Road near Piska More, Sita Ram is a small operation focused on traditional cooking. We named the place because it felt right, and we’ve tried to keep that spirit in how we handle our customers. The street gets very busy with the temple traffic, so there’s always something happening outside our door. We don't have a big marketing budget or anyone to handle social media. Most of our work comes from families who have lived on this road for generations. They know us, and we know what they like to eat. Our kitchen isn't anything fancy, just the basic equipment you need to feed a couple of hundred people at a time. We do a lot of traditional veg meals, especially for the religious functions that happen around here. It’s a lot of peeling potatoes and stirring big vats of kheer for hours. Sometimes the delivery timing gets tight because of the narrow lanes around Piska More, but we’ve gotten good at navigating the shortcuts. We don't use a lot of complicated recipes. We just stick to the basics that people enjoy and expect at a local gathering. Our staff are mostly neighbors or relatives who help out during the peak wedding season. It’s a simple life, focused on getting the salt and spice balance just right so no one complains at the dinner table. We just do our best with what we have.
