Jain Caterers

Down here on Kansara Bazar Main Road, life moves pretty fast. We’re right in the middle of all the shops and the people buying things. Jain Caterers has been part of this street for a while. It’s a narrow road, so getting our supplies in and out can be a real headache some days. You have to know the right time to move the trucks or you'll get stuck for an hour. We mostly spend our time in the back where the heat from the stoves keeps us warm even when it’s raining outside. It’s a family thing, really. My cousins and a few local guys help out with the chopping and the cleaning. We don’t spend much on advertising because people around Kansara Bazar just know where we are. They walk in, ask about the menu for their daughter’s wedding or a small lunch, and we write it down in the big ledger. The floor is usually a bit dusty from the street outside, but we keep the kitchen area scrubbed. It feels like home to us since we spend more time here than in our actual houses. Sometimes we sit out front on the stools when the afternoon slump hits. It’s nice to watch the city go by while we wait for the next batch of vegetables to arrive. We aren't trying to be anything big or special, just a local business doing the daily work. It’s messy sometimes, but we get it done and somehow find the energy to start all over again the next morning.
