In the village of Devali Charan, near Rajpuri in Sarangpur, life is mostly about the land. That is where Rajgarhd Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited operates. We stay at the home of Kamla Bai, who is Radmal’s wife. It’s a local operation through and through. All of us in the Rajgarh district know how tough it can be to get a fair price for what we grow. We decided that instead of everyone doing their own thing and struggling, we would join up. It helps when we need to buy fertilizer or when we are looking to sell what we’ve harvested. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a polished way of speaking. We are just regular people who wake up early to check on the cattle and the fields. Some of our members have been farming for decades and they know every inch of this dirt. We listen to them and try to make smart choices together. It isn't always easy, and there are plenty of days where we worry about the rain or the heat, but it’s better doing it this way. We don't spend money on big signs or marketing. We just focus on the work that needs doing right here in our own backyard. It’s a community thing more than a business thing, and we like it that way.
