This is Biaora Shree Mahakaleshwar Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited. We are women farmers from the village of Lasudli Maharaja. We use Vishnu Prasad’s place as our main spot to meet and get our business work done. Being a woman in farming means you have a lot on your plate with the house, the kids, and the fields too. We decided to join up so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are sold and what kind of seeds we use. It isn't always easy to get away from the daily chores at home, but we make time for the company because it helps all our families. We aren't professionals in a polished office; we are people who work the ground every single day. Some of us have been farming since we were little kids helping our parents. We talk about the crops and the kids and the prices of everything going up lately. It’s a local effort run by the women here. We don’t have much in the way of fancy equipment or computers, but we have each other and our shared knowledge. If you come by Lasudli Maharaja, you’ll see how we operate. It’s just honest work. We try to keep things simple and help the other women in the village get better results from their small plots of land. It’s about making sure we don’t get left behind in the market.
