Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir

If you drive out toward Bhugaon in Pune, you’ll eventually hit Matalwadi Road and find us at Sector No 84/2. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir is part of the Paranjape Scheme there. It’s a bit further out from the main city noise, which is nice because it’s a bit greener and more open. The Pirangut Road can get packed during rush hour, so most of us have learned the best times to travel. The school itself is a busy place once the buses arrive. We have the usual playground, some classrooms that get a lot of sunlight, and a lot of stairs to climb. It’s not a fancy private school with marble floors; it’s a practical building meant for kids to spend their day in. You’ll see teachers carrying stacks of notebooks and kids running around the courtyard when they have a break. We deal with the typical Pune weather—sometimes it’s perfectly clear and other times the rain makes everything a bit muddy. We just keep things moving. There’s a bell that rings to tell us when to change classes, and that’s pretty much the rhythm of our lives here. We don’t have a lot of big speeches about what we do. We just make sure the students have their books and the classrooms are ready for them every morning.
