Samath Catering Service

Samath Catering Service is based at 175 Shriram Society in the Parvati area of Pune. We do not have a restaurant where you can come and sit down to eat. Instead, we do all our work from our kitchen here and then take the food to wherever the event is being held. Most of our jobs are for local families in Parvati or the surrounding neighborhoods. We have been doing this for several years now. It started out small and stayed that way, which is how we like it. The kitchen is always busy, especially on weekends when there are more parties and weddings. We don't have any professional chefs with big hats; it is just a few of us who know how to cook the local dishes that people around here like. We get our vegetables and spices from the same markets everyone else uses. It is a lot of lifting heavy pots and making sure everything is packed properly so it doesn't spill in the van. Sometimes we have to work very early in the morning to get things ready on time. We do not do any real advertising. Usually, someone eats our food at a friend's house and then asks for our number. That is how we get most of our work. We just focus on the cooking and making sure there is enough food for everyone at the party. It is a simple, hardworking life in a regular Pune society.
