Radio Restaurant

Down here on Saldhana Street in the Camp area, things move at their own pace. Radio Restaurant has been sitting at Survey No 1957 for quite a while. It’s right near Shivaji Market, so there’s always people carrying bags of vegetables or meat walking past. Pune changes fast, but this corner feels like it stays the same. We open up early and start the kitchen. It’s a lot of work getting the tables wiped down and the floors swept before the lunch crowd hits. We aren't trying to be one of those modern cafes with complicated menus. We just serve food. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light bulb flickers, and we just deal with it. We like the energy of Camp. It’s a mix of all sorts of people. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we can barely keep up. We don’t have a fancy marketing plan. If the food is okay and the place is open, people come in. That’s how it’s always worked for us on Saldhana Street. We’re just a local spot where you can sit down for a bit.
